What does the new message coming to everyone from WhatsApp mean: "Keep important messages..."?

Regardless of your age, your computer skills, and your tastes and preferences, if we had to point to one app that everyone has installed, it would be WhatsApp.
Meta's instant messaging app has more than 30 million registered users in Spain alone , representing around 94% of Spaniards who use the internet.
A big part of the app's success is that it's constantly being updated, offering its users new features and tools to make their experience on the platform the best possible.
Therefore, it's normal to encounter notifications and messages about new features when using the app, and since there are so many, it's difficult to keep track of them all. That's why WhatsApp, through its official chat (which glides between your regular conversations), has now sent a new message promoting a feature that isn't new, but perhaps not everyone is familiar with.
"Keep the most important messages.
Even if you use temporary messages, you can keep photos, voicemails, and other things you don't want to lose.
Preserved messagesWhatsApp has a feature called temporary messages , which, as the name suggests, aren't messages that last forever; they're deleted after a certain time. Interestingly, they've enabled a feature so that even if you use these temporary messages, you can keep some of them if you want.
"When you use temporary messages in your WhatsApp chats, you can choose to keep them so they don't disappear, as long as their duration hasn't expired. After you keep a message, all participants in the conversation will be able to see it, and it won't disappear when its duration expires," WhatsApp explains.
But of course, if the messages are temporary, instead of a regular conversation, there's a reason. So, if someone saves a message you sent, you'll receive a notification. Since you're the sender, you decide who can save it . If you decide to stop saving your message, no other chat participants can do so again, and vice versa.
To keep a message, tap or hold it, then tap or click Keep . To see messages you've kept, tap the chat info section or click Keep Messages .
